Biography

Salman Khan is an Indian actor, producer and TV host. He has been a box office star since the late 1980s and fans lovingly call him Bhaijaan.

Early life

He was born in Indore on 27 December 1965, the eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan and Salma Khan. His brothers Arbaaz and Sohail also work in films. He studied at The Scindia School in Gwalior and later in Mumbai.

Career

After a small role in Biwi Ho To Aisi, he became a star with Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989. Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! in 1994 was one of the biggest hits of the decade. He went through a slower phase in the 2000s, then came back strong with Wanted and Dabangg.

Since 2010 he has given a long list of hits such as Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. He has also hosted the reality show Bigg Boss for more than a decade.

Charity and business

His Being Human foundation supports education and health care. He also owns the production house Salman Khan Films.

Personal life

Salman Khan is not married. He lives at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, close to his parents, and spends weekends at his farmhouse in Panvel.
