Alia Bhatt is an Indian actress and producer and one of the most successful stars of her generation in Hindi films. She moved from a glamorous debut to serious, award winning roles within a few years.
Early life
She was born in Mumbai on 15 March 1993 to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Her elder sister Shaheen is a writer. She studied at Jamnabai Narsee School and had a short child role in Sangharsh in 1999.
Career
Karan Johar launched her in Student of the Year in 2012. Two years later Highway changed how critics saw her. She won Filmfare Best Actress for Udta Punjab and went on to Raazi, Gully Boy and Gangubai Kathiawadi, which earned her the National Film Award. She has also appeared in the Telugu epic RRR and the Netflix film Heart of Stone.
Business
She runs Eternal Sunshine Productions, which produced Darlings and Jigra, and the kidswear label Ed-a-Mamma.
Personal life
She married Ranbir Kapoor in April 2022 and their daughter was born in November that year. The couple lives in Bandra, Mumbai.
